[2018-10-03 Audrey] Dalai Lama says ‘Europe belongs to the Europeans’ and suggests refugees return to native countries
The Dalai Lama has sparked anger after declaring that “Europe belongs to the Europeans”.
The Tibetan Buddhist spiritual leader also said that refugees should return to their native countries and assist with developing them.
The 14th Dalai Lama was speaking at a conference in Malmo, Sweden which is home to a large immigrant population, according to the Business Times.
“Receive them, help them, educate them ... but ultimately they should develop their own country,” the 83-year-old said, when speaking about refugees.
He was speaking in the aftermath of a divisive election in Sweden in which a far-right party, Swedish Democrats, made electoral gains, although they were beaten by the country's centre-left coalition.

[2018-09-26 Shane] FEATURE: As Facebook ages, more US teens look elsewhere to connect with their friends
Manon, 17, has a Facebook account, but to connect with her friends she turns to other social networks such as Instagram and Snapchat.
“I don’t use it to post status updates or personal information,” the San Francisco teen said.
Manon maintains her Facebook account to be able to stay in touch with the large number of users on the huge social network and as a “gateway” to log into other apps.
“But to communicate with my friends, it’s Snapchat,” the high schooler said. “Everyone says Facebook is out of date. I think it’s because all the parents are on Facebook.”
As Facebook has grown into a network of more than 2 billion people globally it has lost its luster for younger users who made up a core base.
